El Ateneo Grand Splendid Bookshop
Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA
First visit: January 19, 2011
Revisited: April 8, 2020

Not every kid is liking the temporary closure of schools.

I know a little girl who cried because she doesn’t get to see her friends in real life now. I know she frequented her school library during recess, telling her mom that it was the best time for quiet reading.

Another little kid has been preparing for the days if she were to to be quarantined, by curating books she would want to read if she has to be alone. These books keep her company by her bed and I am sure she has been replacing them with new ones.

I’m heartened to hear tales like these and would like to dedicate this special journey to all the readers, young and old.

What a joy to be among books, especially if you get to be in the El Ateneo Grand Splendid bookshop in Buenos Aires in this very very difficult time.
