I have heard quite a bit about Yuan Dong Ping before actually meeting him in Beijing in 2007, and he struck me as really humble and sincere.
Yuan won some international awards with this body of works and it was considered groundbreaking by Chinese standard then. There are traces of western influences, no doubt.
This copy was a gift from Yuan and he wrote a nice dedication.
